Leading VR projects by Oculus had been exhibited in 2018 and 2017 New York Creative TechWeek (CTW).
The project was inspired by the virtual art gallery. I’m a big fan of art shows, and I enjoy walking through various exhibitions in New York. I contacted Robert Smith, who was teaching in the digital arts department and worked on the design of digital sculptures and 3D printing. We decided to collaborate and use Oculus to give people a tour of art in a virtual world.
Robert provided sculpture design and I was responsible for creating scenes and interactive systems. We executed two projects. One was a small island full of sculptures and the other was a jungle island for exploring art pieces. There was also original music in the scene. A filmmaker, when she first experienced the project, she couldn’t help but dance with the Oculus helmet.
